We are seeking Junior Coach candidates from our pool of teenage swimmers to join the coaching staff for the 2024 season. This can be a great opportunity to gain skills and experience in coaching and teaching young children. You’ll learn from the best – Coach Chris – and maybe become an assistant coach, or even a head coach, for the Silver Fins, for another team, or in another sport.

Junior Coach

• Should know swimming strokes and be able to demonstrate a stroke or drill when requested.
• Expected to get in the water during practices and meets to assist younger age groups.
• Gather age groups prior to practice time and begin warm-up, ribbon distribution, etc.
• Assist with meet preparation.
• Assist the head coach and assistant coaches with whatever is needed.
• Assist with setup and teardown for practices and meets (ropes, blocks, flags, cleanup).
• Should be comfortable enforcing pool rules and monitoring kids.
• Should be available for all practices and meets during the season.
• Should be in attendance for the duration of all practices on the given day.
• May also compete for the Silver Fins in the 13-14 (as a 14-year-old) or 15-18 age groups.
